Matt Blundell

Matt Blundell is the new owner of the business and leads the team with an extensive background in kayaking, ski paddling, multisport and adventure racing.

Matt has competed at National and International levels in kayaking ranging from flat water sprints to multi day river marathon races.

Some of his achievements include:

• 1st State marathon champs - 2005
• Winner 2006 Hawkesbury Canoe Classic – Mens K1
• Ist Bridge to Beach – Double ski - 2007
• NZ Coast to Coast – one day event – 5 times
• IDream Raid – adventure race New Caledonia – 2nd 2003, 1^st 2005
• Primal Quest – Utah USA 2006
• As a member of Team Millie, Matt has won or placed in all of Australia’s major adventure races including AROC, XPD, Geo Quest and Max Adventures.

When it comes to any questions or advice on all aspects of kayaking and adventure racing Matt has the knowledge, experience and the inspiration to point you in the right direction, whether it be on training programs for the Coast to Coast, your next AROC adventure or simply buying a kayak or ski for fun out on the water.

Gavin James

Gavin James is an experienced sprint and marathon paddler who also loves to compete in surf ski racing. He brings a great balance to the team with a combination of excellent paddling skills and knowledge. Gavin has had numerous top ten finishes in state and regional sprint and marathon championships and regularly competes in surf races.

Gavin is a lifeguard at the local surf club and a valued member of the Manly Warringah Kayak Club. He also co-ordinates corporate events and has the patience and competence to handle large groups as well as individual tuition on and off the water.

Gavin loves to see paddlers reach their full potential under his supervison and finds coaching a very rewarding profession.

Lionel Newton

Lionel Newton is a keen paddler who gives all disciplines a go. Coming from a swimming background, having played and coached water polo at a State level, Lionel is extending his expertise into ocean paddling.

Lionel's coaching ability is supported with his teaching degree majoring in PDHPE/Sport. Lionel's passion for passing on his knowledge in paddling will greatly assist any requirements from beginners to the competitive.

Adrian Clayton

Adrian Clayton is an Australian Canoeing Sea Instructor Level 2. He has been actively involved in sea kayaking (both for work and pleasure) for the last 14 years. He is also an active surf kayaker and, recently, has started developing his skills on ocean skis and in whitewater kayaks.

Adrian has paddled extensively along the east coast of Australia – including multi-day expeditions in Tasmania in the south to The Whitsunday Islands in the north. His major achievements in a sea kayak include Sydney to Brisbane in 2004-5 (over 23 days with much of it undertaken solo) and a Bass Strait crossing in 2006. He has one Hawkesbury Classic under his belt (and plans to do more). In August 2010 he attended the 7-day LoCo 2010 training symposium in Washington State, USA as part of his personal development as an instructor. He has also completed multi-day kayaking trips in Greece, Turkey and Italy.  

A long-standing member of the NSW Sea Kayak Club, Adrian actively participates as an instructor and trip leader within the Club.

Whether instructing or guiding, Adrian regards himself as one of those very fortunate individuals who are paid for what they love doing. His enthusiasm for kayaking as an activity for all ages (from the young to the young-at-heart) is infectious

Mark Mitchell

Mark is an accredited Stand Up Paddle Instructor with the ASI (Academy of Surfing Instructors) and has taught numerous people in private and or group lessons from beginner to the advanced using the knowledge he has gained over the years. mark has completed the Level 1 Enclosed flat water, Level 2 exposed water and Level 3 beginner surf courses.

Mark also competes regularly in Stand Up Paddle Surfing, flat-water and Ocean racing in local, regional and state stand up paddle boarding events and has excelled in many of these placing highly in quality fields.
